We chose the grackle as our mascot because it is everywhere in Austin, just like our live music. It can be seen on almost every lawn on every street or perched on power lines throughout the city. They are hard to miss, because the grackles found in Texas are usually twice the size of other grackles found around the country. When a flock isn’t swooping through the sky, they can be found trying to steal your food. This has earned them the name “taco raptors.”
